Proper cooping and housing is a key part of Checkered Giant husbandry. It is very important that thay are on sound sturdy solid floored cages. This helps them develop the proper tone and musscle definition as well as keeps their feet from getting sore hocks. The solid cage floors also provide your Checkered Giant the confidence it will need to perform on the show tables . The minimum cage size for a checkered giant is 4 feet long by 32 inches deep by two feet tall . This gives them the proper room to grow develop and exercise. Any smaller and your rabbit will not be able to properly run in a complete circle in is cage.Leaving it only ability to pace the front, which will cause developing and poor flesh conditioned animals. So when you are in the process of building your coops keep 3 main things in mind.
1. your animals wellness and plenty of room for movement
2. enough room to not only house mom but a litter of kits for 8 to 10 weeks as well with out crampoing or over crowding them.
3. ease of cleaning and maintaining the living conditions.
