 To the Vreeland's Rabbitry web page. Vreeland's is a small hobby farm that raises quality American Checkered Giants in both Black and Blue color verities . We are located in Beautiful West Michigan and have been raising ,breeding and promoting "The Rabbit Beautiful" sense 1980. Terry & D'Ann Vreeland are the owners and want to thank you for visiting our site. On this sight you will find loads of information and see what we have done over the years breeding and exhibiting these fine big active animals we call "The Rabbit Beautiful". I have a few side projects working in the mix and I want to make it public.The Checkered Giant Enhancement Project.  Also Known As "The Fleckered Giant Project" a slang term created by certain breeders in the breed that feel to call it that. There is a link dedicated just on this topic and I decided to go public with it to extinguish and rumors,accusations or other false or inaccurate info on the project. Also to help other breeders along the way to see the process.The link is a Documentation of the results of cross breeding the flemish and checkered giant breeds and how many generations it takes to correct the marking and styling issues while retaining the mass and the framing. it is a guide to help others If they so desire to Breed in or start up a project that involves crossing in out side breeds to introduce color traits or size traits.
